I ended up sitting alone outside the Tower of London (in the rain, naturally), waiting while my friends did a whirlwind tour of the inside, because I simply couldn't stand the idea of rushing through yet another historical location. And the weekend after that, I fled to the Isle of Wight for some warmth, sunshine, and minimal historical value.
